About Us

Our Mission

LoneStar Bariatrics was founded to fight obesity. We believe bariatric surgery can be a useful tool to provide long-term success. Our objectives include creating a positive environment where we educate patients, discuss a plan, and provide excellent patient care.  

We believe obtaining these objectives can best be achieved by a team approach.  That is why we have dedicated team to help support you throughout every step of the process. Additionally, we work closely with other services including cardiologists, gastroenterologists, and psychologists.  This design helps patients and providers manage medical conditions, diseases, and overall expectations.  

We believe our team can facilitate the fight against obesity.



Meet Our Team

Dr. Chad Carlton

Board Certified Bariatric and General Surgeon


Dr. Carlton is a highly regarded bariatric and general surgeon, having earned several awards throughout his career, including being voted as a Top Doctor by D Magazine in both Dallas and Collin counties.


Allison Rezentes

Registered Dietitian, MS, RD/LD

Dr. Shea was born and raised in New Jersey. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and completed medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine. Dr. Shea then continued his education with residency at Monmouth Medical Center and completed his bariatric and minimally invasive surgery fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

Our main priority is to help you achieve your health and weight loss goals.



Dr. Chad Carlton is involved from the start and will closely follow you through the process. He makes it a point to ensure all of your questions and concerns are addressed.


Bariatric Coordinator

Our coordinator will be your main contact as you move through the pre-surgical process, including insurance and all pre-surgical requirements needed.


Licensed Dietician

Our in-house dietician, facilitates pre surgical requirement nutrition appointments. She is here to support you through your dietary and lifestyle changes after surgery.


Registered Nurse

Our nurse provides pre- and post-operative education as well as conducts all post-operative follow-ups. Our registered nurse is here to take care of all your needs.


Medical Assistant

Our medical assistants support Dr. Carlton in clinic and will be your main contact point of contact for clinical questions or concerns. Our MA sends referrals and lab/imaging requests.


Support Staff

Our support staff includes front office staff, insurance verifiers, surgery scheduler, and billing manager. Every team member has a crucial role in your process to surgery.
